Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery Part 3: Behind the Scenes and Goat Knowledge

June 25, 2010 in Behind the Scenes

Have I mentioned how much fun this assignment was?!  Here’s a little more from our day at the farm!

ZooEffect WordPress plugin

All this, AND we learned some things!  Goats…

  • smell just like goat cheese
  • want to mark you with their scent, to then make YOU smell like goat cheese
  • are not only pickpockets, but can quite easily open a zippered pocket
  • have very healthy saliva glands they don’t mind sharing, along with half chewed grass (apparently our clothing and hair are quite delicious!)
  • can have awesome names like Cecilia and Coco (Wes told us they name litters in themes to help keep them organized-one group is named after old Hollywood movie starlets!)
  • are pretty fantastic animals and super fun to be around!:)

Here are some more photos from our day at the farm!:)  For some reason the leader of the gang in the last photo keeps making me think of Johnny Strabler!
